Moving In!

So we passed the final inspections this morning, and so we are set to move in this weekend. What a long road it has been. There are still outstanding issues like the water issues and whether we will ever get correctly billed and the p and p.

But the major hurdles are over. This weekend is my birthday, so this is an excellent present for me. I will spend my birthday putting in closets and moving things in. The bulk of our things will come next Monday and Tues.

I will continue to post pictures as things get finished and furnished. However, today, I am basking in the feeling of almost being at the finish line.

Laundry room tile floor looks great!

Another view of the beautiful kitchen floor!

This is the front door with the first coat of paint and the new hardware!

Guest bathroom tile wall. The same pattern will be used in the master bathroom.

The best picture of all- The kitchen with cabinets, floors and lights!

This is the ceiling fan in the fmily room. It needs a longer downrod but is otherwise great!

Foyer chandelier!

This is the chandelier for the dining room. It will force us to make the dining room a dining room- and we have to figure out what to do in the meantime to pass inspection.

Lots of things going on!

We are down to the last month. The final date they are setting-barring any major setbacks is around Feb 22 with three or four days to for punch out. It seems far away, but I know it will come quickly.

There are lots of decisions to be made and things to be done in a very short span of time. At the same time we are managing the house rebuilding, we also are managing the insurance claim. We are the point of trying to get settlement for the property contents, but we keep running into snags. I am a little (okay alot) concerned about that process. We did finally finish and submit the personal property list back in December. The public adjuster has been tweaking it since then, but they managed to leave off all the things that were taken out of the house by various vendors and declared to be unsalvagable. (Like several computer monitors which couldn't be restored.) It is a little frustrating. Additionally, we have to figure out how to rectify Associated Living Expenses (ALE) which include hotel stay, clothing, food from the first couple weeks in the hotel and various other things.

Ahhh well. I guess I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, so I can keep going!
